The Texas Rangers are MLB’s only team without a Pride Night. That’s unlikely to change (theathletic.com)

The Rangers, asked a half-dozen questions in an email – including what message the absence of a Pride Night sends to fans and to their own employees who are part of or active allies for the LGBTQ+ community – responded with the following statement:

“Our commitment is to make everyone feel welcome and included in Rangers baseball. That means in our ballpark, at every game, and in all we do – for both our fans and our employees…”

Well, I mean, clearly not everyone. Just the straight cis people, apparently.

…We deliver on that promise across our many programs to have a positive impact across our entire community.”

Do you, though?

“It’s ironic because we just played the Rays on their (Pride Day) and the whole message was ‘Baseball is for Everyone,’” said one current Rangers employee. “But not if you’re a Texas Rangers fan.”

Exactly. Tell me again about how you’re delivering on that promise?

And to add personal (hometown) insult to injury, there’s this:

The Rangers were one of two teams (along with the Atlanta Braves) who did not name the LGBTQ+ community in a tweet two years ago supporting Spirit Day. The entire campaign, started more than a decade ago, is against bullying of LGBTQ+ groups.

To the Braves’ (and Rangers’) organization, this is unacceptable. I mean, can’t we all get on board, even just in a fucking statement, with standing against bullying of our children? Is that so frickin’ hard? I mean, come on.

To the Rangers’ front office, your continued BS homophobic stance is ridiculous, not to mention insulting.

To the Braves’ front office, yes, adopting a Pride Night is a place to start. But do better. Every day. In all facets.
