It strikes me as odd that we use the phrase “underwear drawer” as this harbinger of privacy and secrecy. Like the map to some long-lost treasure is in there, or the secret sex toy that you’re trying to hide from your partner.

And yet, at least in my own underwear drawer, it simply contains….underwear.
