Why tech companies are wrong to think electric cars are a solution to climate change (euronews.com)
The priority should therefore not be to replace every car with its electric equivalent but rather to rethink mobility in general.
I wish this was more focused on and implemented everywhere in the world. Especially in the U.S. We’ve been to large European cities multiple times, and I’m always insanely jealous of the fact that we don’t have to have a vehicle to move around the city. And then we get home, and we’re right back into the notion of hopping in the car at the drop of a hat.
And I don’t blame us for doing it. We do NOT have the infrastructure to support mobility solutions here. For one, no one will risk political suicide to raise taxes to do it. Because we are, collectively, cowards.
