One more thing…

I’ve read many reactions to Joe Biden’s problematic debate performance last week. But the ones that get to me most are the ones that mention stuttering. And how stuttering, just by itself, implies that he’s “losing it” or “his faculties are failing”. Because, clearly, stuttering means you’re disabled in some way. Not smart. Faulty. Failing. Bad. Not fit. And any other classification they want to engender with their words.

It offends me. And it just reinforces the inner voices (demons) in my own head that chastise me whenever I stutter in my everyday life.

It just proves to me that, again, that people don’t really understand stuttering at all.
