On this week’s “Political Gabfest”, David Plotz had a sobering thought:
Donald Trump’s success is not about being a good politician, specifically, himself. His success comes from his ability to make everyone skeptical about politics. He degrades discourse so much that people are more cyclical about everything and everyone having to do with politics. Hence, they vote for the person that wants to blow up that “system”, and he has positioned himself (however outrageous he can be) as that candidate.
