David Plotz on the most recent (bonus) episode of Slate’s Political Gabfest:

Before we leave, can I just point out the incredible hypocrisy of the right on this [X.com]? There was so much time and energy spent by conservatives on the idea that Facebook was being unfair to them, and the fact that a platform was being used, I mean falsely claiming that Facebook was being unfair to them. And the platform was being used as a political tool and how dangerous that was. And here you have X, that has been utterly deployed to amplify Trump and to spread lies about Harris. And that’s all OK now. It’s just…the hypocrisy is ridiculous. But, so it goes.

This is where I kind of listen in despair a bit. “But, so it goes” is all we have. Musk can do whatever he wants and there are no consequences. Trump can do whatever he wants, and there are no consequences. No accountability. Nothing.
