Um, no, that’s a ridiculous comment. No woman needs to get her man’s approval for who she votes. And a bad relationship? He really is nuts.

There’s also another ad in which men are reminded that their buddies will never know for whom they vote, so they can vote to protect their womenfolk.

Am I missing something? Did I just grow up in, and now live in one of my own, a “progressive” household in which this has just never been a thing?

The idea that Jayme would ever have to tell me who she voted for (for example) is absurd. At the same time, I asked Jayme several days ago if she knew anyone who “lives in a situation where the husband’s way goes”.

Her answer? “Yes, absolutely.”
