On Tuesday, newly minted White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in her first press conference, said the following:

Those folks that you mentioned have a right to have that legal opinion, but it is in disagreement with the legal opinion of this administration. This administration believes that birthright citizenship is unconstitutional and that is why President Trump signed that executive order.

Let me fix that for you, ma’am:

“Those folks that you mentioned have a right to have that legal opinion, but it is in disagreement with the opinion of this administration. This administration believes that birthright citizenship is unconstitutional and that is why President Trump signed that executive order.”

You (and President Trump) can have that opinion, but you can’t have that legal opinion. You do not make laws.
