I learned last night that a good friend of mine from middle school passed away this week. As life often plays out, we drifted apart towards the latter part of high school. And then we lost touch once we went our separate ways for college. We followed each other on Facebook, for sure. But we never saw each other again. Unfortunately, we never will.

We were extremely close for one of those early summers. Our houses were near each other. We spent afternoons at her pool. Talking about anything and everything. Laughing, joking. She had this great laugh. One that not only put a smile on your face, but genuinely warmed your heart. She was joyous. She was loving. She was full of energy and life.

And now, all these years later, cancer has robbed the world of that laugh. And it will be a lesser place without it.

Rest in peace, Liana. ❤️
