I didn’t realize how much of the JFK story is still buried inside of me.
I happen to find this podcast called “The Rewachables”. It’s basically a podcast that goes through the history of films and discusses why some are more rewatch-able than others.
I started listening this morning to the episode about the movie “JFK” from December 2021. Fascinating to hear the hosts and guests talk about the same topics I remember talking about with my dad and friends way back in the early 90’s. I’ll admit it drove me to watch the movie again this afternoon. It’s a real nostalgia trip.
What I didn’t expect to feel was a sense of connection to the current political climate. Fascism, lying to the American people, and trying to discern what is truth from fiction are all topics we struggle with to this day. Especially with the current administration.
“The government wants everybody to be scared.”
I guess they were right. History is, if nothing else, cyclical.
